Drawers
Each and every cabinet and dresser in our Dorchester range is built upon a solid interlocked frame, using mortice and tennon joints backed up with modern epoxy glues, so every piece is a rigid framed cabinet, never flat packed for ease of transport. All of the frames, doors and cabinet facias are made from Basswood, famed for its high stability, modulus of elasticity and resistance to warping and cracking. For the panel work, we use an 18mm cross laminate poplar, finished in birch, therefore retaining the unique character of real wood.
Each piece is spray painted with an undercoat to completely seal it and then given three top coats by hand, with a gentle sanding between each one, enhancing its home style uniqueness. We use a water based eggshell paint for easy maintenance long lasting protection.
