At Kit Stone we have tried to break down the cost of our fitted kitchens into the cost of its component parts, so all you are paying for is the raw material.
Our cabinets are all hand made, from solid wood and an 18mm marine ply, they have a rigid frame and the doors hang on butt hinges within a framed opening, draws soft close on Blum runners and to finish each piece is hand painted…you can’t get much better than that. Within our sector of the market there are many companies selling a comparable product and the raw material cost of the cabinetry will be broadly similar. However, with us, you will only pay for the cabinetry, our average fitted kitchen sale price is £9000, not the £30,000 plus that many companies start at.
It is our aim with our fitted kitchens to enable our customers to end up with a fitted kitchen that looks £30,000 but has only cost a third of that…how do we do this?
-Our kitchens, although hand made and hand painted using traditional cabinetry techniques, are essentially a modular kitchen. We have a broad range of standard cabinets from which to configure the perfect kitchen, however, do not claim to being ‘bespoke’.

-You have had to try a little harder to find us, in order to keep the cost of your kitchen down, you won’t see double page spreads of them advertised in the glossy magazines.
-You won’t find us in expensive high street showrooms, we are slightly more off the beaten track.
-We don’t employ an army of fitters, and tie you in to having your kitchen fitted by us. Alternatively, you are free to fit the kitchen yourself, use your own builders, or we will recommend fitters who are experienced with our kitchens and come highly recommended. That way, you have the freedom to negotiate your own price and terms.
-We will ask you to work with us a few steps of the way to enable one of our designers to come up with exactly the kitchen you dream of; we have designers both at our showrooms and freelance covering all regions, please contact us to find out the one nearest to you.
The way we typically work is for you to send the designer your architect’s drawings or detailed measurements that you have taken yourself. We will, if you require, visit your home, however, in most instances this is unnecessary.
We will then work with you, listening to your requirements and wishes, to design a fitted kitchen that perfectly fits your space. You can do this all remotely or plan to visit our showroom for an hour’s appointment.
Once these designs have been finalized all you will be charged for is the component cabinets in your design and the delivery charge, all totally transparent.
You then have three options for fitting your kitchen, which, due to the fact that every cabinet is a solid framed piece of furniture, is not a daunting task. The first option is for you to use one of our recommended fitters, the second is for you to source your own and the third, which many customers have done, is to fit themselves. Our fitted kitchens are often going into extensions or complete house renovations, so many customers find it is not a problem to get their builders to fit as their last job.
Once your kitchen is fitted it will look a million dollars…and it can be your little secret that it hasn’t… |
