Kitchen cabinet making

Each and every kitchen cabinet in our Dorchester fitted kitchen range is built upon a solid interlocking frame, using mortice and tennon joints. These are set in hydraulic presses prior to backing up with modern epoxy glues, so every piece is a rigid framed cabinet.

True to the best kitchen cabinet making techniques we run our frame direct to the floor adding rigidity and aesthetic appeal. Behind the front legs is a removable skirting that can be set back for a free standing look or forward for a more sealed appearance.

All of the frames, doors and cabinet facias are made from Basswood, famed for its high stability, modulus of elasticity and resistance to warping and cracking. For the panel work, where others have taken the easy MDF option, we have sought the integrity of an 18mm cross laminate poplar, finished in birch. This cross laminate gives us a stable surface, resistant to movement, yet still retaining the unique character of real wood.
Last but not least, so eager are we in our attention to detail, that every cabinet is checked on glass to make sure it is completely level.
